A senior at Maggie L. Walker Governors School, Hunter has a 3.98 GPA, and has a combined SAT score of 2120. He is member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar who received Summa Cum Laude (2007), and Magna Cum Laude (2008) honors for the National Latin Examination.
As captain of the mens varsity swim team, Hunter has won many awards; he is the Male High Point Award Winner of the Kecoughtan Invitational and the USA National Award of Excellence. He holds the Central Region Record in the 100 breaststroke, 200IM and 200 Medley Relay. Hunter is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, and member of the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association. He spends time in the community volunteering for the Special Olympics, NOVA, Wyndham Christmas Mother, and the Central Virginia Food Bank.
After being recruited by some of the top teams in the nation like Princeton, Notre Dame and Duke, Hunter has committed to swim for Duke in the fall.
As a finalist, Hunter has received dinner for two, and an opportunity to compete for a $10,000 scholarship.
