Cuba Gooding Sr., the once popular soul singer and father of actor Cuba Gooding Jr., was found dead in his car Thursday, TMZ reports.
The celebrity news and gossip website reports Gooding Sr. was found slumped over in his silver Jaguar at about 1 p.m. PT. Sources said Gooding died of a suspected overdose at the age of 72.
Gooding was the lead singer of the band "The Main Ingredient," which toured the world in the 70s. The band struck it big with the single "Everybody plays the fool."
