Lexus of Richmond is proud to present our first scholar athlete of the school year, Walker Wallace of St. Christopher’s School. Having a current 4.5 GPA, he has received high honors every semester. Walker is a National Merit Commended Scholar. On the SAT exam he scored a near perfect 790 Math and a 1520 out of 1600 overall. He is additionally an AP Scholar with Distinction and a member of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, the National Spanish Honor Society. At the end of his junior year Walker was selected by the faculty for the Dartmouth Book Award. He is a member of the English 10 which is comprised of the top 10 English students at St. Chris.
Currently as a St. Christopher’s senior, Walker is involved as a Student Council Representative . He is a two year member of the Saints for Social Justice (SSJ) where he is also an Executive Member. The SSJ is a group that focuses on awareness and empathy for diversity, tolerance, inclusion, equality and social justice. As a board member of the SSJ, Walker is involved in creating programs or conversation starters as well as overall group promotion. Since his freshman year, Walker has been an Acolyte and Warden for St. Stephan’s Church. He additionally is a two year Middle School Mentor at St. Chris; Walker provides one-on-one mentoring for another student in middle school.
A three sport athlete, Walker has consistently been on St. Chris’ Varsity teams since freshman year. For the lacrosse team, he will be a two time captain by the end of his high school career. Playing goalie Walker was recognized in his junior season for: 1st Team All State, 1st Team All Prep, 1st Team All Metro, and US Lacrosse All American. As a part of the football team, he plays wide receiver and is currently a captain. With the basketball team he has been selected be a captain. He plays as a forward and was chosen for the Prep League All Tournament Team as a junior. Following his senior year Walker will continue his lacrosse career with his commitment to Cornell University.
A four year member of St. Chris’ 100 for 100 club, Walker is now a captain of the group. He and his co-members raise money for lower income students. The club then joins the children at Dicks Sporting Goods for a $100 shopping spree at Christmas time. As a sophomore Walker began volunteering for both the Special Olympics and Jacob’s Chance Buddy Ball. He has been a tutor for the Anna Julia Cooper School since his junior year. Walker additionally has given his time for the One Love Foundation and Shalom Farms.
