Congratulations, Peter King of Cosby High School, Lexus of Richmond’s Leadership Award Scholarship week 6 nominee!

Currently ranked at the top of his class, Peter has a 4.98 GPA and has been on the distinguished honor roll since freshman year. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). Having scored three perfect 5’s on his AP Tests, he is an AP Scholar with Distinction. Peter has received numerous Academic Awards in school for classes such as: Honors AP Calculus, Honors AP Statistics, and Honors AP Biology to name a few.

As a defender/center back on Cosby’s varsity soccer team, Peter will be a two time captain in his senior season. He has been recognized as a two time First Team All Conference player and two time First Team All Region player. Following his junior year he was named to the First Team All State. Additionally, he is a two time First Team All Metro player, and he has twice received a Scholar Athlete Award. While a freshman and sophomore, Peter played with the Richmond United US Soccer Development Academy. As a junior and now a senior, Peter is on the FC Richmond Soccer Club as a two time captain.

Peter has been a part of Cosby’s Spanish Club since his freshman year and the Varsity Club since sophomore year. He has been in the Beta Club since 10th grade. As a part of Mu Alpha Theta, the National Math Honor Society, Peter has been a math tutor since his second year of high school. Following junior year, he was able to participate in a Study Abroad trip in Spain where he lived with a local host family.

As an active participant in the community, Peter has spent time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. He is a St. Constantine and St. Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral Acolyte where he participates in the service and procession of the church. With RVAccess, a program through Richmond Kickers, Peter is a soccer coach for special needs athletes. Since freshman year, he has worked with the children on building their skills and the love of the game.

Peter is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
