With a GPA of 4.0, Morgan is currently in the top two of her graduating class and is a member of the National Honor Society since being inducted in 2015. Morgan won a gold medal for the National Latin Exam and n 2015, she won two Book Awards for the Veritas School Science Department and the Humanities Department. Currently she is a UVA Jefferson Scholarship nominee.
While at Veritas, Morgan has competed on the cross country and track & field team and is the VISAA cross country State Champion from 2012 and 2014 – 2016. She’s the indoor track 3200m state champion in 2014 and the outdoor track state champion for the 1600m and 3200m in 2014 and 2015. Morgan holds 14 school records for running at Veritas, and she was named the Richmond Times Dispatch Scholar Athlete of the Month in September 2016. To go along with her athletics, Morgan is also an accomplished violinist as a member of the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Morgan has been involved with United Athletics where she aided disabled athletes during triathlons. In addition, she has spent time with the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls by putting together strength, running and nutrition clinics for the children. Morgan is the founder and organizer of Run for Mukhanyo which is a children’s run fundraiser for a South African school for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children. The richmond run averages $16,000 a year and has happened annually for 6 years. She has also created two additional runs in North Carolina. All together the three runs brought in $40,000 this past year.
Morgan is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
