With a 4.4095 GPA Maggie is currently ranked in the top 4 of her graduating class. She is a member of the National English Honor Society and the National Computer Science Honor Society. In 2018 Maggie received the William and Mary Leadership Award. She took 2nd place for public speaking at the Future Business Leaders of America Regional Conference. Maggie was a Delegate of Virginia at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders.
While attending Powhatan, Maggie has found herself involved in numerous groups and activities within the student community. Participating in student government, Maggie served as the Freshman and Sophomore Class Vice President. She followed up as the Junior Class President, and she is currently the Senior Class President. She has been a PHS Ambassador through all four years of school. She is a member of the Leftovers Club, supporting Relay for Life. She is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and serves as the Local Chapter Secretary. She has spent her time outside of school as a volunteer youth basketball coach. Additionally, Maggie has worked at VCU Medicines for All as a Chemical Research Lab Technician.
Maggie has been on Powhatan’s Varsity Basketball team throughout all four years of school; she plays point guard, shooting guard and forward. As a junior she was selected for both the Second Team All District and the Regional Honorable Mention. Additionally as a junior Maggie was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player. Outside of Maggie’s basketball career, she was a member of the Varsity Track and Field as a freshman and a JV Volleyball team member in her sophomore year.
Over the course of her high school years, Maggie has participated in several community service projects. She spends time with Project ASK for the Support of Children with Cancer. Maggie has worked on several local community service projects with the Powhatan National Honor Society. Having completed over 70 volunteer hours, Maggie received the Future Business Leaders of America Community Service Award, First Level.
