With a 4.3 GPA, Lauren scored a 1530 out of a possible 1600 on the SAT’s. Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Latin and English Honor Societies. She has scored 3 perfect 5’s on AP tests and in 2017 she was named an AP Scholar with Honors.
As a four-year Varsity field hockey player, Lauren is currently the team captain for her senior season. In 2014, the team was the Virginia 4A State Runner Up. Throughout her high school career, Lauren has collected accolades including: All-State 2nd Team, All-Region 1st Team, Richmond Times Dispatch All Metro 2nd Team, and All-Conference 1st Team. Additionally, Lauren has played defense for the Varsity soccer team since 2015, and she had previously been the JV soccer team captain.
This past summer Lauren participated in a mentorship at the Richmond Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, and she plans to put that experience to good use as she explores various aspects of economics in college and beyond. Lauren is a member of Maggie Walker’s RAMPS Club or Ramp Access Made Possible by Students, and she is a part of Club SECSEE (Saving the Earth through Conservation, Sustainability, and Environmental Education).
Ever present and active in the community, Lauren is involved with the Girls with Goals Leadership Academy and the Autism Society of Central Virginia Bowling Buddies. She recently held an internship with the Greater Richmond Fit4Kids. Lauren has been a volunteer coach for the U-10 Field Hockey with Panthers United. She has also spent time with organizations including Relay for Life, the Special Olympics and Millwood School Summer Camps.
Lauren is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
