Congratulations Daniel Jovin of Maggie L. Walker Governor's School, Lexus of Richmond's Leadership Award Week 7 Nominee!
In 2015, Daniel was inducted into the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society, as well as becoming an AP Scholar with Honors in early 2016.
As a member of the varsity soccer team since freshman year, Daniel is now currently the team captain for Maggie Walker. Playing as a defender, he was named to the All Conference Team and the AA East All Region Team during his junior year. He has also been on the Richmond Kickers Elite teams as a defender every year of high school. Daniel is also a founding member of Maggie Walker’s engineering club and in 9th and 10th grade he was his class Treasurer, and has been on the school debate team since freshman year.
Daniel has been involved in multiple organizations including Relay for Life as a volunteer during sophomore and junior year. During 10th grade, he was a volunteer for the Children’s Museum of Richmond and spent 105 hours volunteering at the Richmond SPCA from 2013-2015. Over the past two summers, Daniel volunteered around 290 hours with the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Daniel is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
