Claire Andress, Week 8 Nominee

Congratulations Claire Andress of The Collegiate School, Lexus of Richmond's Leadership Award Week 8 Nominee!

Claire has received an AP Scholar Award and has been selected twice to participate in Collegiate School’s International Emerging Leaders Conference. She was selected for UVA Advance in 2015 and was also chosen for an AP Spanish class in Cadiz, Spain.

Playing pitcher and 1st base, Claire has been on Collegiate’s Varsity Softball team all four years of high school and a captain for junior and senior year. She was named Softball Rookie of the Year after her freshman season and in 2015 and 2016, she was the Defensive Player of the Year. Claire was also selected for the All-State 2nd Team, and after her junior year, Claire was named to the All-State 1st Team. Claire also participates in the Spanish Club, Interact Club and Ceramics Club. She manages the junior-senior female mentorship program and is a journalist for the school online newsletter, The Match.

Claire has served as a student coach for the RiverCats softball program, and she has volunteered for the Faison School for Autism during their summer classes at the Collegiate School. Other organizations she spends time with are RAMPS; Ramp Access Made Possible by Students, and CARE; Collegiate Animal Rescue Effort.

Claire is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
