Having scored four perfect fives on his AP Tests, he is an AP Scholar with Distinction. He was named a National Merit Commended Scholar. Aditya scored a 1550 out of a possible 1600 on the SAT’s and has a current 4.4 GPA. He additionally scored a 770 out of 800 on the SAT II for both Chemistry and US History. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Science, English & History Honor Societies. In August 2016, Aditya was selected to attend Neuroscience Camp at Duke University.
A member of Maggie Walker’s varsity golf team since 2015, Aditya is a current co-captain of the team. While a part of the team, they took two Conference Championships. As a part of Maggie Walker’s varsity tennis team as a freshman an sophomore, Aditya became a two time 2A State Champion.
Interested in the medical field, Aditya has spent time with a couple doctors and researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has put in over 200 hours of research in a nephrology lab since 2016 where he looks for treatments for chronic kidney disease. Beginning in 2017, he shadows Dr. Scott Graham in VCU’s Neurology Department. He is working to complete a research project using data science to improve patient care outcomes. While at Maggie Walker, Aditya is the Senior Class President. He is the current President of the Model UN and has been a member since 2014. In the summer of 2017, he attended Virginia Boys State. While at the conference, he was selected as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and was awarded the Eddie Dentz American Legion Memorial Scholarship.
Working with the Shady Grove YMCA, Aditya has completed over 100 hours of community service through the YMCA Leaders Club. He was selected as one of 30 participants for the Blue Ridge Leadership School in 2014. Additionally in 2014, he served as a sports camp counselor for YMCA where he taught sports fundamentals to children. In 2015 Aditya was selected as one of 50 students in the VCU Health System program to serve as an information assistant for the patient and visitor population at the hospital. Aditya has spent time with Music Orchard since 2015. With this music outreach program, he teaches children at Fox and Holton Elementary school to play the saxophone.
Aditya is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
